Eng. Bahaa Shalaby is the Founder and the Chairman of the Board of Directors in MB Engineering. Eng. Shalaby established the company in 1981 with a focus on low voltage electrical components as a sole added value distributor of Hager. Eng. Shalaby’s assumes a visionary role in the company, being influential in the Company’s strategy and having previously led it through the creation of its distributional network and relationships with key accounts to obtain its market share and become a well-positioned brand nationwide.

Eng. Ahmed Shalaby is a member of the Board of Directors in MB Engineering, who has been continuously advancing the Company’s capabilities, strategic positioning, and operational activities, through his proficiencies earned throughout his extensive experience and education. Since joining in 2006, Eng. Ahmed has exponentially grown the company’s revenues by 7x and has instilled his staff with the know-how and technical competencies necessary to establish MB Industrial’s operations. Eng. Ahmed holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) from IESE University, Spain and a MSc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Greenwich, UK. Eng. Ahmed has been recognized as 1st IEEE Paper Contest Writer in 2005, 2nd Award in the International Electronics Design Contest, and M.Sc. Distinction Award from University of Greenwich.

Tamer Shalaby

Tamer Shalaby is a non-executive member of the Board of Directors in MB Engineering, overseeing the institutionalization of the Company and establishing a succession plan of management from his 20 years of experience in Human Resources. Mr. Shalaby is currently the HR Director of TE Data in Egypt and Jordan overseeing 4,000 employees. Throughout his extensive career, he has assumed Human Resource roles in Etisalat, OSN-Showtime, Shoprite, Logic Management Consulting, Alkan Construction, and Sainsbury. Mr. Tamer is highlight decorated; having been certified as a Middle East Assessor, being SHL Certified in 2006, recognized for “Outstanding Contribution to HR in the Middle East 2006”, received the HR Excellence Award from EHRMA, “The Big Branch Brother” and was rated among the top 5 HR Managers in 18 countries in South Africa.

Mohamed Saleh

Mr. Mohamed Saleh is a member of the Board of Directors in MB Engineering. Mr. Saleh is spearheading the establishment of the Company’s corporate governance and internal audit committees leveraging his 12 years of experience in Auditing. Prior joining MB Engineering, Mr. Saleh was an assurance acting manager in Ernst & Young Egypt, engaged in due diligence assignments in relation to valuation and restructuring as well as IPO procedures. Mr. Saleh regularly participates in EY Business Community department as an instructor for numerous fields including CPA, CMA, IFRS, among others. Mr. Saleh is a PhD. qualifier (Degree in progress), CPA, Chartered Accountant (Egypt), member of the Egyptian Society of Accountants & Auditors and the Egyptian Society for Taxation and also holds a Master’s degree in Accounting.


Tarek Effat

Tarek Effat is Chief Operations Officer at Catalyst Partners, a financial advisory firm focusing on the Family & Medium Size Enterprises space in Egypt. Mr. Effat is an active entrepreneur in the F&B business with two successful food chains. Prior taking the entrepreneurial path, Mr. Effat was the Director of PR and Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of Investment (MoI); main responsibilities included setting and implementing the strategic plans for the investment within the Egyptian Government, in addition to managing the private and public sector investments in Egypt. In 2012 & 2010, Mr. Effat represented the MoI in The International Monetary Fund & World Bank annual meetings in Egypt. In 2010, Mr. Effat organized the COMESA conference held in Sharm El Shiekh. Mr. Effat organized several Roadshows to UAE for private and public investors. Mr. Effat liaised all communications with Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior. Mr. Effat served as a non-executive board member in several companies such as Al Taamir Co. and Ashty Co. Mr. Effat received his Bachelor of Police Science and law from the Police Academy, Egypt; and also completed Public Relation and media skills courses..

Mohamed Nader

Mr. Mohamed Nader is an independent member of the Board of Directors in MB Engineering. Mr. Nader started his career in portfolio management at the representative office of the London based brokerage and portfolio management firm GNI. Then, Mr. Nader joined the leading Investment Bank in Egypt EFG-Hermes. He participated in promoting different IPO’s and private placements in different sectors. Mr. Nader participated in consultancy assignments in London for a year for Westminster Business Consultant- the consultancy arm of the Westminster university. Upon returning to Egypt, late 2001, he worked as a Management Consultant and Instructor in several Management consultancy and Training firms until establishing Archer Consulting in 2006.
